Legacy Fest Main Event

We come to this space to pay respect, make space for a history erased, honor the living, and extend the legacy of Tulsa into the future. This program was created to allow attendees to experience three planes of time — past, present, and future — with the sole purpose of empowering the Greenwood and Tulsa communities and demand reparations for past and current harms.

We first ground our attendees in a history of Tulsa’s Black community before paying deference to those lost in the 1921 massacre. From there, we make our declaration: There is no Justice Without Reparations. We segue into the present, bringing with us the descendants of the Greenwood massacre, our link to our history and our guides for the future. Here, we celebrate the new emerging Black Wall Street while offering the solution, language, and application of justice through reparations to heal and empower a community. Lastly, we move into our future, envisioning one that honors the generational excellence of the Tulsa and Greenwood communities.
